from twin peaks
oh beautious city

Some interesting SF experiences over the last few days:

I went up to Twin Peaks to test out my new Canon Rebel DSLR. I knew it would be a decent camera but I didn’t know it ROCKED until I took the above picture. Maybe I just got lucky with getting a decent picture. I took this picture while the wind practically blew my shirt off (have you ever been up to Twin Peaks?!). It’s a good thing the air was warm.

Later that Friday night, Em and I went for a crazy walk at night. It was a warm night and so we walked all the way to Castro. Now I know that Castro is the heart, painted in a rainbow, of the US’s gay population. But during our walk, I saw more gay people than I’ve seen in my whole life combined. In fact, I felt like a total minority being one of the few hetero couples around (it was Friday night so people were out and about). An interesting experience indeed.

Saturday morning Emily was watering the plants next to our dining room window which was open and faces our neighbor’s backyard. I was playing with my camera again and taking pictures of the plants when our neighbor walks out to the backyard from a small alleyway between their place and the building next door. Seeing us (and maybe me with my camera) she paused. No smile or anything. Her arms were full of clothes and she was obviously bringing laundry back in. I could see her legs and thought that she was wearing some short shorts. She then proceeded to not-so casually walk towards her back door and when she turned to walk in we saw that she was just wearing panties!! I was laughing too hard to take a picture.

At night, a bunch of us had Ebisu and then hit up Tart-to-tart. Mmm.. double mmm!

On Sunday, the sun beckoned Em, Amy and I to go on a walk. So we hiked over the hill back to Castro and looped around passing Dolores Park. I was about to tell Amy the story of how the last time I was here I saw a guy on a thong laying out. But I didn’t have to tell her the story because I spotted another one and motioned her to look in that direction. But this time it was even more eye-brow raising because the last guy was sitting on his stomach while the guy today was laying on his back and wore these thongs that simply wrapped his sack. :\ Sack-age!

At night we were looking for some comfort food so we drove out to the Tenderloin to eat at Turtle Tower. I’ve rarely been to the Tenderloin but it became obvious we found the right place when I parked and saw someone shooting up right up the sidewalk. Then there were some angry, mentally ill people walking aimlessly. My bowl of Northern Vietnamese-style pho was deeelish!
