		<description>Sure, the communications progressions made this past year were extraordinary (don&#039;t forget cell phone videos of saddam, michael richards, etc), but have we actually realized a time when most people use blogs or youtube for anything much beyond amusement?  The noise of boredom still overshadows the signal of useful, life-permeating information-sharing, even if this past year has proven the potential of people so privileged to embrace new forms of communication.

Shouldn&#039;t a &quot;Person of the Year&quot; have more substance than imagination?</description>
