here again i find myself wide awake in the middle of the night. maybe it was the drinking or the dancing. maybe it was the years of staying up in college that forever set my biological clock. nevertheless here i am again.

memories thoughts change meditation

my favorite moments of the day are those rare times i wake up at some insane hour in the morning right before the sun rises. the soft glow that slowly intensifies over the hills is like medicine for the soul. the graceful change between night and day when nothing is awake, not even the birds. it’s a moment stolen for myself.

come to think of it this has always been a favorite thing of mine. i can even recall in my berkeley dorm days how the city would slowly awake from pure silence to the gradual bustling of students. it rang like sweet music to my ears.

but the night brings darkness, solitude and waiting. waiting until the next day when the sun shall rise again.

mm … so romantic. i like twilight though. i love the light when it’s been rainy but it clears up before sunset and the sun comes under the clouds and everything is golden and shimmery. and the day that’s been hazy thus far is now all clear. ahhh … so nice.
